Habitia – Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
In short: Habitia keeps your habits, routines, entries and notes only on your phone. There is no account, no advertising, no tracking and no cloud copy. The only data that can leave your phone are optional, pseudonymous technical crash reports, which you can switch off at any time.
1. Who is responsible
Ehsan Toloui
Contact: developers051@gmail.com
2. Data stored on your phone
Everything you enter (habits, routines, daily entries, notes, reminder times, settings) is stored in a database inside the app on your phone. We do not receive this data and cannot see it. Uninstalling the app deletes it, unless you saved a backup file in a folder of your choice.
Android’s automatic cloud backup (backup to your Google account) is switched off for Habitia, so your data is not copied to Google by the app.
3. Backups and exports
You can create backups and exports (JSON or CSV). They are saved only where you decide: the app’s private storage, a folder you choose, or an app you share the file with. We have no access to these files. Please keep them safe, they contain your entries.
4. App lock (optional)
You can protect Habitia with a PIN and, if your phone supports it, your fingerprint or face. The PIN is not stored in readable form: only a protected value derived from it is kept in Android’s secure storage on your phone. Fingerprint and face are checked by Android itself; Habitia never receives biometric data. Nothing about the app lock leaves your phone.
5. Crash reports (optional)
What is sent: If the app crashes or hits an error, it can send a technical report to our error-monitoring provider Sentry. A report contains the error message and where in the code it happened, the app version, the Android version, the device model and a random installation ID created by the crash-report software. It is pseudonymous: it contains no name, e-mail address, Google account or advertising ID, and never your habit names, notes or entries (database details are removed from error messages before sending). There is no session tracking, no usage analytics and no screenshots. Your IP address is necessarily transmitted when a report is sent, but Sentry is configured not to store it.
Your choice: You can switch crash reports off and on at any time under Settings → Privacy → Send crash reports. While the switch is off, the crash-report software is not started and nothing is sent.
Purpose and legal basis: We use reports only to find and fix bugs. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, for the installation ID, section 25 TDDDG). Crash reports are off by default; you are asked once at the end of the set-up, and you can withdraw your consent at any time with the switch above.
Processor and storage: Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., USA) processes the reports on our behalf under a data processing agreement. The reports are stored in Sentry’s EU region (Germany). Because Sentry is a US company, access from the USA cannot be ruled out; this is covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Retention: Reports are deleted automatically by Sentry after at most 90 days.
6. Permissions
- Notifications – to show the reminders you set and the “step finished” signals of routines.
- Run after restart – to plan your reminders again after the phone restarts.
- Vibration – for optional haptic feedback.
- Keep screen on – while a routine is running (can be switched off).
- Internet – only used to send crash reports (if enabled).
- Folder access – only to the folder you pick for backups or exports.
- Fingerprint / face – only if you turn on the app lock.
7. No advertising, no tracking, no sharing
Habitia contains no ads, no analytics and no tracking tools, and we do not sell or share personal data.
8. Children
Habitia is not aimed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from them.
9. Your rights
Your habits, entries and notes never reach us; you control them inside the app and delete them by removing the app. For crash reports you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Because reports only carry a random installation ID, we usually cannot tell which reports are yours; contact us at the address above and we will help as far as we can.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state where you live or work.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new date.
Habitia – Datenschutzerklärung
Stand: 17. Oktober 2026
