Werbung (Google AdMob)
Kein Standortzugriff, keine Kontakte, keine Kamera, kein Mikrofon.

Privacy Policy
In short: Your learning data stays on your device. WDT itself does not collect, send or share personal data and has no account. The app shows ads from Google AdMob (see “Advertising”). Apart from advertising there are no analytics, crash-reporting or tracking services.

Advertising (Google AdMob)
WDT is free and shows ads from Google AdMob: one small banner, only on Home, Search, word details and Phrases, never while practising. For this the app has an internet permission.
Where required (EU/UK), a Google form asks for your consent on first start (e.g. advertising ID, approximate location, and device and usage data for personalised ads). If you decline, Google may serve only limited ads or none. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings → Ads (visible where the form appears). You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in the Android settings (Privacy → Ads).
Google is responsible for the data processing by AdMob (Google Ireland Limited for users in the EEA and Switzerland). Information: policies.google.com/privacy and How Google uses information from sites or apps. Your bookmarks, notes, history and learning progress are not passed on to advertising partners.
What is stored on your device
Bookmarks, history, notes, learning progress, daily goal, streak, badges and your settings (language, design) are stored only in the app’s private storage. They are not backed up to the cloud: Android backup is switched off for WDT. The dictionary itself is part of the app.
Deletion
You delete your data by clearing the app data in the Android settings or by uninstalling the app.
Daily reminder (optional)
If you turn it on, Android asks for permission to show notifications. The reminder is scheduled only on your device and contains the word of the day. Nothing is sent to a server.
Reporting an error
The function opens your mail app with a prepared message (entry, app and data version, no device data). You see the message and decide yourself whether to send it. Sending is then subject to the privacy policy of your mail provider.
Permissions
WDT needs: internet (for ads and the consent request), network state and advertising ID (for Google AdMob), notifications (optional, for the reminder), start after a restart (so the reminder keeps working) and vibration (reminder feedback). No location access, no contacts, no camera, no microphone.
Sources of the dictionary data
The word data comes from free sources and our own processing, among others Wiktionary (CC BY-SA 4.0), Tatoeba (CC BY 2.0 FR) and the Leipzig Corpora. Full details are in the app under More → Sources and licences.
